My Morning Jacket Raises Funds & Awareness for Charity with Add-Ons
Posted by rpm
Since 2009, My Morning Jacket have worked with RPM to add $1 for nonprofits to the cost of every ticket sold. As a result of 8 ticket add-on tours, nearly $300,000 has been donated to 97 organizations across the US & Canada working on issues including: arts and music education, criminal justice, disaster response, environment, economic justice, health care, media justice, women’s rights, and more.
My Morning Jacket band members have also been incredibly impactful in their activism and advocacy. Jim James and Patrick Hallahan spent time in New Orleans in 2007 and 2008 for RPM’s Artist Activism Retreats to inspire and inform their activism, philanthropy, advocacy, and art. Since then they have not only raised the funds mentioned above but they have participated in a number of campaigns and projects that have resulted in: the engagement of new supporters on more than a dozen issues, and new energy and awareness to organizations, particularly those working on education, New Orleans, and the environment.
