How To Help: Earthquake In Nepal

On April 25, 2015 at approximately 2 a.m. EDT, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake occurred in Nepal. Estimates indicate that more than 8,000 people have died, and more than 14,000 have been injured.

Powerful aftershocks—including another massive earthquake that hit on May 12, 2015—are halting recovery and causing loose hillsides and cracked buildings to give way and collapse.

How To Help- Earthquake in Nepal

Two of RPM’s staff have extensive experience, as well as family and friends in the affected area. All are well, and we will continue to monitor the situation through our on-the-ground contacts and our partners at the Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP).

As we have learned from past disasters like the earthquake in Haiti, the Asian Tsunamis, and hurricanes Katrina and Sandy, communities can take years—or even decades—to recover. To help facilitate this, RPM has set up a disaster response fund.

Here’s How YOU Can Help:

1. Donate to RPM’s “When Disaster Strikes” Fund

  • Managed by RPM & CDP, donations to this fund are granted to fully-vetted organizations working on-the-ground in affected communities—before, during, and long after the disaster. These groups are often best positioned to lead the rebuilding.
  • Impact reports will be provided so you can see what your efforts accomplished.

2. Share the fund with your fans and encourage them to donate.

3. Use the fund as the beneficiary for creative projects. Ideas include:

  • Ticket or merch add-ons for one show or a whole tour.
  • A benefit song, download-for-donate campaign, or other digital download fundraisers.
